Preview Today in Brezovo, at a short ceremony, Plovdiv philatelist Pelo Mihaylov and his partner Flora Vartanyan presented the birthplace of Zlatyu Boyadzhiev with a complete collection of the series of postage stamps, which include reproductions of the nationally famous artist born in the city. The donation was accepted by Anelia Parpulova, chairwoman of the association "Creative Center - Birthplace of Zlatyu Boyadzhiev".

"On Monday morning, I read on the Internet about the work of the Birthplace of Zlatyu Boyadzhiev. It has been receiving visitors every Saturday and Sunday for two months with free admission. I immediately decided that Flora and I could support the desire of a group of local people to develop this place as a cultural center. In one afternoon, I visited the Philatelic Shop - Plovdiv with sales consultant Diana Tuneva, from where I purchased the five series and a total of 25 stamps. Then I went to the Florinus store for the philatelic sheets on which to arrange the series. The next day, I was busy with the color copying with a threefold increase of only the five stamps with reproductions of the great Zlatyu Boyadzhiev, and in the late afternoon I was ready with the accompanying text," Pelo Mihaylov, one of the donors, told the website Philately Bulgaria - New Generation.

Preview "It was then a matter of time before Flora and I could organize a visit to Zlatyu Boyadzhiev's hometown to bring the donation. On Saturday, Anelia Parpulova told me over the phone that she didn't know about the existence of such stamps, but she never even dreamed that someone would gather them in one place and bring them to them as a donation. Today, I would tell her, "Start dreaming so that your dreams can start coming true"! Just as I fulfilled a dream of mine today. In every museum that Flora and I have visited for the past two years, I end up asking about postage stamp exhibits, specialized philatelic collections dedicated to cities, personalities or events, and almost everywhere I encounter quiet misunderstanding. That is why today I am pleased that I was able to show the hosts a complete collection of postage stamps with reproductions of the great artist Zlatyu Boyadzhiev, and present them as a donation to this small cultural center," Pelo Mihaylov also said. The series are arranged on separate philatelic sheets, and only the stamps with Boyadzhiev's reproductions are copied and enlarged three times.
For her part, Anelia Parpulova thanked the two donors, especially for the quick response (literally in five days) after the publication on the web.

Preview The donated series will be arranged in one or two boards and exhibited as quickly as possible in one of the rooms of Zlatyu Boyadzhiev's native house. The house is currently privately owned, having been purchased by its last owner - an Englishman - in 2019. It has been renovated and is open for visits every Saturday and Sunday with free admission (at the express request of the new owner). It is located in the town of Brezovo, at 35 Dimitar Blagoev Street, with parking available on the street on which it is located.
