Additional Information
The stamps were sold only on the days of the celebrations (April 20 and 21) and were valid until April 25, 1901 for affixing letter correspondence only for the interior of Bulgaria. 51-52 are printed with 5 types of photoclichés, arranged consecutively in the printing form of the postal sheet (twice per line), having different characteristic defects in the image. Each horizontal bar of five stamps contains all five types of clichés. At age 15, type V does not contain any of the features shown in types I-IV. The following varieties can be defined as more significant: 51 type IV - a white spot like a wedge, starting from the lower part of the left frame (4th and 9th marks of the row); 52 type II - deformation of the elements from the top of the braid ornament, above, between "18" and "76" (2nd and 7th marks); 52 Type IV - a white spot joins the lower part of the "8" of "1876" with the decorative braid at the top of the stamp, another large white spot joins the same braid with the upper left of the white frame of the ball medallion (4th and 9th stamps). There are stamps with a year error - '1870', '1873' and '1878' instead of '1876', as well as no serrations. The projects for the stamps were presented by the committee for the construction of the "Tsar Osvoboditel" monument. It is assumed that the artist of the stamps is Haralampi Tachev. From 51-52 there are forgeries.📙 Related Issues (1)

Additional Information
Of all values, they occur with darker or lighter shades. With the exception of 56 and 63, all other values are also printed on thin paper, and from 58 on thick paper. From 53, 54 and 58 there are also without serrations, from 55,59 and 61 - with a shifted center, from 55 - with an upper left digit "3" shifted upwards, from 56 - without a right upper digit "5", from 57 - without upper digits, from 57 and 59 - without the face of Prince Ferdinand and without upper digits. Stamps with "1901", "1905", "1909" or "1910" millages are rarer. The artist Stefan Badzov was born on May 31, 1883. He graduated in decoration and painting in Prague in 1906, so we question his authorship of 53-64. In 1929, in a survey conducted among philatelists and stamp artists, 53-64 was declared the series - a benchmark in all indicators - both in artistic design and in polygraphic execution.| BC № | Nominal | MNH | Used/CTO |
