The International Philatelic Exhibition ANKARA '23 was organized by the Turkish Philatelic Federation with the support of Turkish Post to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey. The exhibition was held from 20 to 30 October. The national part of the exhibition ended on 26 October, while the international part, which received recognition from FEPA, started on Friday 27 October and will conclude on Monday evening, 30 October, with the announcement of the Grand Prize at the Palmares Dinner.In the international section, participation was open to philatelists from countries that had seceded from the Ottoman Empire or had postal organizations within the Ottoman Empire. The themes of the exhibits had to be related to the Ottoman Empire, the Turkish War of Independence, the Republic of Turkey, the Levantine Post Offices, the military postal services during World War I, or the wars before and after World War I in the region.
Bulgaria was represented by the President of the Bulgarian Football Union Spas Panchev and Janush Donev. The awards won were - Spas Panchev - Big Gold Medal and 95 points and Janush Donev - Gold Medal and 93 points.
