Preview At the Lyaskov Monastery "St. Peter and Paul", a postal-philatelic edition "150 years since the founding of the Peter and Paul Theological Seminary" was validated.

The theme "Monasteries as a support for the Bulgarian spirit and statehood" dates back to the classical period of stamp issuing, said Pavlin Kavulski, Director of the North Central Region Regional Department of Bulgarian Posts, in his welcome speech.

He specified that back in 1911, in the series "Views and Portraits", for the first time on Bulgarian postage stamps, the most famous monasteries in Bulgarian lands were depicted - the Holy Rila Monastery and the Holy Trinity Monastery near Veliko Tarnovo, which was patriarchal during the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. He specified that the theme "Religion" is one of the most interesting in Bulgarian stamp issuing.

The issue, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Peter and Paul Theological Seminary, is a postage stamp priced at 0.90 leva and a special postmark, the work of the artist Nevena Koleva.

The Mayor of Lyaskovets Vasil Hristov and the Regional Governor Ivaylo Zdravkov also participated in the validation of the stamp. After the validation of the stamp, a temporary post office was organized in the Peter and Paul Monastery for the sale of the issue and the affixing of the special first-day postmark.
