On June 6, the Royal Mail released a new series of stamps featuring some of the UK's favorite dog breeds. The collection, featuring a Dalmatian, Jack Russell Terrier, Labrador Retriever, Border Collie, Whippet, Siberian Husky, Chihuahua, Cocker Spaniel, Pembroke Welsh Corgi and Pug, was launched to celebrate the country's love of animals.
The Postal Service noted that more people own dogs than any other pet in the world, with a third of households in the UK owning a K-9.
David Gold, director of external affairs and policy at Royal Mail, said: “The British are known for their love of animals, and especially dogs. We hope these beautiful stamps will bring extra joy when they drop into people’s mailboxes on cards and letters – and will remind our customers to put their beloved dog in another room when they open the door to collect their mail from their post office.”
