On October 1, 2024, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Postal Service will honor the healthcare community with a new commemorative "Forever" stamp. The validation of the issue will take place at the Hubert H. Humphrey Building in Washington, D.C.The stamp depicts health-related icons spelling out the words "thank you" in a neat line on a pure white background. The words "Healthcare" in gray and "Community" in surgical green run along the bottom right of the stamp. The issue was designed by Bryan Duefrene.
The healthcare community includes physicians, surgeons, dentists, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, orderlies, home health aides, hospital orderlies, and emergency medical workers, among others. It also includes public health professionals such as epidemiologists, microbiologists, and data analysts. The USPS honors the healthcare community because these individuals dedicate their lives to protecting our health, safety, and well-being, often at great personal risk.
