I will highlight four key areas where it is possible to derive maximum benefit from new technologies. The fact is that they already have the advantage, at least, and in some aspects they absolutely dominate.

Literature — Digitization and online access
The digitization of literature and its online access have revolutionized the way we use, distribute and store written works. We have full access to them, provided we have an internet connection. Preservation is the main goal: digitization protects rare or fragile works from physical destruction or destruction. Furthermore, it is important that readers can carry thousands of books and magazines on devices such as laptops or even smartphones. In the Union of Philatelists of Serbia, the digitization of the national magazine "Philatelist" is a top priority. The digitization of printed materials is a key process in the modern information age. This process involves the conversion of physical documents into digital format, which provides numerous advantages over traditional print media. Since its first issue in 1949, the magazine "Philatelist" has played a major role in connecting, informing and educating philatelists. In order to preserve and share its rich heritage, the Union of Philatelists of Serbia, in cooperation with the Svetozar Marković University Library in Belgrade, is digitizing the magazine Philatelist within the framework of the "Searchable Digital Library" project.

Correspondence — email vs. paper
The rise of digital communication has had a major impact on replacing traditional paper with emails. Several advantages of electronic communication stand out: speed (emails are delivered almost instantly), economy (no paper, printing, or postage costs), accessibility (you can send/receive messages from anywhere with an internet connection), and easy storage. Meanwhile, instant messaging applications have surpassed email in popularity, further increasing the level of digitalization. However, paper-based communication has not been completely replaced. A balanced approach that includes both methods remains practical and acceptable.

Overview — Stamps, Overprints, and Envelopes
The inspection of stamps and envelopes has evolved significantly with the introduction of modern technologies. These innovations improve the accuracy, authentication, and analysis processes for philatelists. For example, high-resolution scanning. Modern scanners provide ultra-high-resolution images, which is a prerequisite for identifying defects, analyzing printing techniques, and more.

Exhibitions — Digital Creation, Development and Visual Presentation
The computer and the corresponding software are now the main tools for preparing exhibits to a visually appealing level, as evidenced by the exhibitions here at Balkanphila in Thessaloniki. Only a few exhibitors still use the old methods of preparing exhibits. I can safely assume that only those who have not changed their exhibits for the last ten years or more continue to use the old methods. This change to digital methods, like all previous ones, is irreversible.
