Dobrich is hosting the philatelic exhibition "Dobrich Philex 2023", which will be held from October 20 to 26, 2023. The exhibition is organized by the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists and "Bulgarian Posts" EAD, together with the Philatelic Society "Dobrudzha", BAS, the Regional Library "Dora Gabe" and the National Library "Yordan Yovkov - 1870". The main events of the exhibition have already passed and it is time to write a few words on the subject. The most interesting moments of the exhibition were divided into two days. The best Bulgarian exhibits in the classes "Theme", "Maximaphilia", "Open Class" and "Single Board" are presented on more than 80 boards. The commissioner of the exhibition is Eng. Dimitar Chernev, chairman of the Philatelic Society "Dobrudzha".As an ordinary "brand lover", I was thinking of writing a post that would tell a little about all the events that took place during "Dobrich Filex 2023". Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the event in person for a number of reasons, but after watching the photos and videos from the event, I decided to tell what I felt and sensed, what I saw in the faces of my colleagues, employees, guests and children.
My first impression was from the photos taken by Stanislav Kolev during the preparation of the event. In them, you could see the enthusiasm, desire, hope and trepidation of the organizers to make things happen in the best possible way. I thought that they all take time from their personal time - time that they could spend on their family, for this cause and make incredible selfless efforts to make this event happen in the best possible way. And this is not from that day! The organization started long before that and quietly crept forward.
The exhibition was officially opened by Eng. Svetoslav Gochev - Head of the Regional Post Office - Dobrich.
The experts in philately in Bulgaria - Georgi Dechev, Georgi Mandev and Nikolay Penev and Eng. Dimitar Chernev showed the exhibition to students from schools in the town of Dobrich and gave talks.
This was followed by the validation of two postal issues on the themes "Bulgarian National Awakeners" and "125 Years of the Birth of Dimitar Talev". The program was supplemented with various cultural events. The philatelic exhibition was quite well covered in local and national media, which led to its high popularity.
Unfortunately, among philatelists there are individuals who, for 5 leva, can lift the relevant post office on their head, which this event has not passed by. Everyone knows that we are talking about Temelaki and company, whose ugly scenes during the validation of issues shame both the philatelic community, the Bulgarian Post Office and the Bulgarian Post Office and ruin wonderful events such as "Dobrich Filex 2023". The scenes from totalitarian times reduce the image of philatelists in Bulgaria to almost zero. I think that many colleagues are of the opinion that all this should be stopped in one way or another. I hope that the managements of the Bulgarian Post Office and the Bulgarian Post Office, together with the philatelic community, will find a working solution to the issue.
As a final note, I can say that the philatelic exhibition "Dobrich Philex 2023" is a perfectly organized event and is a ray of light and hope in the development of this wonderful hobby. The extremely high activity of both the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists, Bulgarian Post, philatelic societies from the country and especially the members of the philatelic society "Dobrudzha", the events with the participation of various members of the public and adolescents, led to the philatelic exhibition "Dobrich Philex 2023" becoming a wonderful event for the citizens of the city of Dobrich and philatelists in Bulgaria. The inclusion of younger boys and girls in the philatelic hobby should be a priority in the work of the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists and societies in the country and I think that this time it was achieved in full. This is the path to their future. I hope that my colleagues in the city of Plovdiv will present themselves at least in the same way at the upcoming exhibition on November 17-19, 2023.
Ultimately, this is my opinion on the issue of "Dobrich Filex 2023". And I want to emphasize - this is my personal opinion and I am not committing anyone to it :)
