Krastyo Sarafov (1876–1952) was a colossus of Bulgarian theater, called "the pride of our stage". As a leading actor at the National Theater, he played iconic roles, including Hamlet and King Lear. He was awarded the honorary title of "Peoples Artist" (1946), and the National Academy of Theater and Film Arts (NATFIZ) is named after him.
