The Bulgarian Philatelic Catalogue published on this website represents a comprehensive digital study of Bulgarian philately, covering the period from 1879 to the present day. It is the result of many years of continuous research, systematic data collection and ongoing verification.
The primary objective of the catalogue is to document, organize and make accessible the full spectrum of Bulgarian philatelic material. This includes postage stamps, postal stationery, first day covers, booklets and other related issues, presented within a unified and coherent structure.
A central focus of the work has been the achievement of completeness across all historical periods, as well as the identification and classification of varieties. Considerable effort has been devoted to integrating dispersed and often inconsistent information from multiple sources into a single, structured and logically organized system.
The catalogue is not a simple compilation of previously published material. It incorporates original research, corrections and extensions based on the examination of philatelic items, comparison of sources and long-term specialized study. In many cases, the data presented reflects reinterpretation or refinement of earlier information.
As a digital resource, the catalogue is continuously updated in response to new discoveries, additional material and changes in the philatelic market. It is intended both as a practical reference tool for collectors and as a research platform contributing to the documentation, understanding and development of Bulgarian philately.
