Additional Information
158-163 were ordered on 1.VI. 1917 together with the stamps from the "II war edition", but were received in Bulgaria only at the end of 1918, after the end of the First World War and remained stored in the state securities depository. Due to a lack of stamps with small values, on 11.VI. 1921 158-162 were put into use, but after a protest by the government of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (Yugoslavia) on 28.VI. 1921 they were withdrawn from use. This is where the common name of the series comes from - "the banned" or "the confiscated". 163 was not put into postal use at all. After 1931 and the following years, some of the stored stamps were sold for collectors purposes through the post offices in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse and Burgas. During storage in the repository, the following were damaged due to moisture: 158 - 1,000,000 pieces; 159 - 1,140,000 pieces; 160 - 1,170,000 pieces; 161 - 1,100,000 pieces; 162 - 570,000 pieces; 163 -1,090,000 pieces.| BC № | Nominal | MNH | Used/CTO |
